Our History
Etosha Fishing Corporation, formerly known as the Walvis Bay Canning Company,
pioneered Namibia’s fishing industry in the 1940s with the country’s first fishmeal and canning plant. In 1995 the facilities were completely revitalised and today Etosha Fishing boasts one of the
best round can production facilities in the world.
Throughout its history the company has contributed to the popularisation of pilchards for human consumption, offering a readily available, value for money meal that it rich in protein packed with essential
omega 3 fatty acids. Over the years, we've proudly supplied canned goods to esteemed international brands such as Lucky Star and Glenryck.
Etosha Fishing more recently broke ground with its
Efuta Maasbanker product range, making available Namibia’s national fish, horse mackerel, in a can.
