Cycling Rules

RELEASE AND WAIVER
In consideration for the acceptance of any entry, all entrants do hereby release and discharge the organizers, any sponsors, any and all volunteer groups, all medical personnel, any and all local authorities form all claims for injuries, damage, or property loss I may suffer caused by the negligence of any of them and arising out of my participation in this event and assumes all risk for this participation. Entrants must be physically fit and sufficiently trained to participate in the event and assume all risk for this participation. All the rules, conditions and regulations of the Namibian Cycling Federation and shall be complied with. Entrants also grant permission to the organizers to use their names, photographs, videotape or broadcasts of the event free of charge. An adult must accompany children under the age of 12 years

RULES:

Registration will take place the previous day at between 16:00-19:00 at the Etosha Fishing Head Office, 1 Rikumbi Kandanga Road, Walvis Bay. Race briefing 6:45
ENTRY FEES:
- 105km N$100
- 21km N$100
- 5km N$50
NO HELMET NO RIDE: You must wear an approved helmet complying with ANSIZ90\4 or SNELL standards
BICYCLE SPECIFICATION: Any two-wheeled machine powered solely by you will do, as long as it is roadworthy.
SERVICE VEHICLES: Seconding in the form of following vehicles or motorbikes is forbidden and will lead to disqualification. There will be official sweep vehicles to assist in an emergency. Spectators will be allowed on the route however any assistance of any kind rendered to a participant including drafting will lead to disqualification of the participant.
FOOD AND DRINK: For the 105km km there will be two water points where drinks will be available at approximately 35km and 70km. For the 20 km there will be one water point at approximately 10 km.
CUT-OFF TIME: You will not receive a finishing medal if you have not completed the distance before the cut-off time. Officials, marshals, sweep vehicles and water points will withdraw from the course after the cut-off time. Cut-off time will be 11:30
AGE LIMIT: No persons under the age of 15 may enter the 105 km race. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
START/FINISH: All categories will start at Jan Wilken Stadium and finish inside the big tent.
PRIZE GIVING: Prize giving will be at 12:30 in the main tent on the Jan Wilken sports grounds.
