Duty Station: Walvis Bay, Namibia
Reporting to: Canning Master

The primary purpose of the position is to ensure that production efficiency and quality standards are met. Furthermore to ensure that facilities and processes conform to GMP standards by managing quality systems and processes.

Key Performance Areas:

Supervising Production Process - Oversee processing to ensure ideal production results are achieved.
Production Administration -
  • Draft and present daily production Reports
  • Liaise with relevant authorities regarding offloaded fish weight
  • Manage can codes to be printed on cans
  • Oversee time and attendance of employees on shift
Health and Safety - Ensure that personnel on the shift comply to health and safety standards and regulations.
Supervising Personnel - Enforce company standards with staff. Supervise staff performance against agreed targets and within policies and standards.


Education - Grade 12
Work Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production environment, preferably in a Canned Food Manufacturing facility.
  • Proven experience with relevant legislation, international standards and codes, which should include HACCP, Hygiene and Retort Operation, will be an advantage.
  • Experience in general maintenance of canning machinery
  • At least 2 years’ supervisory experience
Computer Literacy - Basic to Intermediary level ofMS Office (Excel, Word, E-Mail)
Soft Skills - Active listening, Oral Expression, Comprehension, Social Perceptiveness,
Sound Judgement, Decision Making
Language Proficiency - Fluency in English and the conversancy in Oshiwambo or any other Namibian language will be a distinct advantage
