Etosha Fishing Cares

Walvis Bay – The well-being of the community in which Etosha Fishing operates is just as important for the company as the well-being of its own employees. Against this background Etosha Fishing has identified undernourished children in eight schools in the Walvis Bay community as a priority. For more than 5 years now the company has been sponsoring a school feeding scheme that currently provides five meals per week to more than 1 200 children, which amounts to more than 300 000 meals served per year.

On the sporting front, Etosha Fishing has been sponsoring one of the top running events on the Walvis Bay sports calendar, namely the Lucky Star Marathon since 1985. It has grown over the years into one of Namibia’s premier roadrunning events, with a participation of nearly 1000 athletes. Most of the athletes are school children from all over Namibia whom Etosha sponsors with food, accommodation, T-shirts, medals, transport and of course prizes.
