Boiler Operator
Etosha Fishing Corporation (Pty) Ltd an equal opportunity employer invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Boiler Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective operation, monitoring and maintenance of boilers and auxiliary plant equipment to support continuous production.
Key Responsibilities Operating and monitoring steam boilers and auxiliary plant equipment
Ensuring continuous steam supply to production operations
Monitoring pumps, motors, air supply systems, hot wells and related equipment
Monitoring chemical levels and ensuring correct plant operation
Ensuring all equipment complies with safety, hygiene and operational standards
Assisting with fault-finding, repairs and maintenance activities
Maintaining good housekeeping standards
Reporting defects, deviations and safety risks to the Supervisor
Assisting with training and guidance of employees where required
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, HACCP and company procedures
Minimum Requirements & Competencies Grade 12
Valid Boiler Operator Certificate
A Recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate (Millwright) will be advantageous
3-5 years’ proven experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment
Sound knowledge of high-pressure steam generating plant equipment and safety procedures
Knowledge of ISO 9000, HACCP and Health & Safety standards
Strong mechanical aptitude, fault-finding and problem-solving ability
Good verbal, numeric and communication skills
Good time management, planning, and organising skills
Ability to work long hours & under pressure
